About One of a Kind

Gina Schiavo

Gina Schiavo

My educational career began back in 1997 when I started out as a paraprofessional for the Department of Education. I attended the College of Staten Island where I pursued and graduated in 2003 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.  In 2004, I received my Master's Degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Student of Other Languages) from Touro College. I taught Kindergarten for 4 years and 2 years as a Library Cluster Teacher at P.S. 69 in Brooklyn. With all my knowledge, experience and love of teaching, I’m ready to move to the next level of teaching -- Child Care/Preschool education. Early Child Care/Preschool education is the first and most important foundation that a child can experience and I’m so very excited to own/operate my own Child Care/Preschool where I can share my love of teaching with every child, parent and family in our Staten Island community.

Testimonials

Mrs. Schiavo is a wonderful teacher, full of energy, and very dedicated. She made my daughter Marissa's first school experience an extremely memorable one. Marissa still reminisces about all the good times she had in Mrs. Schiavo's Pre-K class.

Tina’s face brightened with joy and I knew that instinct that Tina was going to have lots of wonderful experiences in Ms. Schiavo’s class and she did!

When I was in Ms. Schiavo’s class, I was having trouble learning how to read. I remember Ms. Schiavo taking time every day to sit down next to me and help me become a better reader. I am lucky to have had such a great kindergarten teacher.
